1 lb fillo dough
1 lb extra lean ground beef
2 medium onions diced small
1 cup diced parsley diced small
3 buds diced garlic
6oz tomato paste
1 tsp allspice
1/2 cup canola oil
pinch of salt & pepper
Mix the meat pie filling thoroughly in a bowl until smooth. (all ingredients above excluding the fillo dough and the canola oil)
pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.
Heat canola oil on medium heat just until oil is warm.
Put pan on hot plate next to phyllo dough working area. Open up the phyllo
dough on a board and using a pastry brush dip the brush in the oil and drizzle
the oil over one sheet of the dough. Do not brush the dough - doing this will
keep it light and crunchy. Repeat this with four times using a total of 4
sheets of dough. Do not put oil on the top layer. Cut the dough down the
middle long ways and then divide each strip into four giving you 8 squares.
Using a fork spread about 1 Tablespoon of meat mixture on each square. Place on
cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes until golden brown around
