3 cooking apples, peeled and diced into 1/4-inch cubes
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
pinch of salt
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 pkg. (1.9 oz.) Athens mini fillo shells
1/2 cup frozen whipped topping, thawed
2 tablespoons caramel ice cream topping
2 tablespoons finely chopped walnuts
2 tablespoons all purpose flour
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon melted butter
In a small skillet over medium heat cook diced apples in 1 tablespoon butter 3 minutes. Stir in brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Cook apples until tender. Stir in lemon juice and remove from heat.
Fill each fillo shell with 1 teaspoon apple filling. Combine crumb topping ingredients, stir with a fork and sprinkle on tarts.
Bake tarts on cookie sheet in 400F oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until brown. Cool completely.
Using star tipped bag, squeeze whipped topping on tart to garnish. Drizzle with carmel topping and serve.
